Jurors hear disturbing details about Lutz slayings

After brutally killing and mutilating his girlfriend and her two young children, Edward Covington told detectives that Lisa Frieberg “did nothing but love me,” a prosecutor told jurors.

Spare change a small price to help others

Joe  Brown Parking meters first appeared in American cities in the 1930s when the number of automobiles began to grow faster than the spaces that could accommodate them, particularly in downtown areas. Today they generate millions of dollars for some cities, and while many drivers consider them a nuisance, what some call one-armed bandits have become an acceptable part of the urban landscape.
